Our customers, which include over 100 leading companies such as ExxonMobil, Chevron and Oxy, are among the most forward-looking and innovative energy companies. They become members of the Darcy network because we help them discover emerging technologies that address some of their most pressing challenges and facilitate their long-term growth.
Our member-driven model is designed to break down barriers to industry collaboration, allowing members of all sizes to learn from one another. We create value for our customers in various ways, but one of our best-known offerings is our ability to connect our customers with the thousands of dynamic startups working to positively impact the world’s energy ecosystem. The Mission
Reporting to the CEO, the Senior Vice President, Research oversees our entire research team (Oil & Gas, Power & Utility and Strategic Opportunities) and is ultimately responsible for the quality, timeliness and evolution of our research product.
You will work with your peers across the enterprise to set research/event agendas, build processes that allow us to produce research in a highly disciplined manner, and produce work product that delights our key audiences.
You will work with our product/technology team to evolve the way we deliver research using both digital (Darcy Connect, Webcasts, data sharing) and analog (in-person events and conferences) methods. You will work with our commercial team (sales and marketing) to allot resources that help us secure new logos and renew existing logos.

What You Bring to the Table
Industry experience
Most of our research team comes from highly technical environments, which allows them to deliver research and guidance that general-purpose firms cannot. Partners well with others
You understand that you will need to be closely tied to our marketing, sales, events, product and engineering groups to properly execute on revenue growth. You can demonstrate times that you’ve achieved results based on cooperating and collaborating well other functions and understand what strong partnerships look like between the functions.
Data driven and metrics oriented
You know how to manage to the right metrics and how to present the data to the CEO in terms of research impact. You are steeped in using both leading and lagging indicators to determine the health of the research engine, and you have used these indicators to determine solutions to challenges within the business.
Collaborative
You have empathy for your colleagues and customers. You demonstrate and influence cross-functional collaboration within the company and seek out opportunities to build relationships with others, even when difficult personalities or politics stood in the way.
Intellectually curious
You have a strong level of curiosity and care about learning. You are willing to try out new techniques and continuously improve your own skillsets and understanding. You aren’t afraid of mistakes – you learn from them and pride yourself on not making the same mistake twice.
Flexibility
You understand that at growth-stage companies, things will evolve, and you may have to be flexible in your approach and in your expectations. You’re open-minded and adapt well to changing environments as a company grows and scales.
Gets stuff done/accountable
You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves, getting deep into the numbers, tracking down the data, and delivering on a short timeline with limited resources. You don’t require a huge team to make things better. You’re comfortable thinking strategically, but also enjoy the process of “doing the work” yourself, and you take pride in the analysis, insights, and processes you have produced in your past roles. You own your work, start to finish, but aren’t afraid to ask for help when you need it.
Customer-obsessed
You spend most of your time with, thinking about, or supporting others in serving your customers. You deeply understand who loves your product, the value they derive, and how you are different than alternatives.
