About the Topic
Join us for a virtual event highlighting cutting-edge carbon capture and utilization technology at the National Carbon Capture Center (NCCC) in Alabama. John Carroll, a key leader at the NCCC, will provide exclusive insights into the diverse portfolio of technologies that have been piloted on actual flue gas streams—a vital step toward commercial-scale deployment. We'll discuss: -Real-world results from leading carbon capture and utilization demonstrations at the NCCC - How these successful pilots pave the way for large-scale commercialization - Ways your organization can collaborate with the NCCC to advance the next generation of carbon capture and utilization solutions. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with industry peers, explore concrete pathways to innovation, and learn how you can engage with one of the world’s foremost carbon capture test centers.
About the NCCC
The National Carbon Capture Center (NCCC) in Wilsonville, Alabama, is the U.S. Department of Energy’s main facility for developing and testing advanced carbon management technologies. Operated by Southern Company since 2009, the center provides real-world conditions for the evaluation of point-source carbon capture, carbon conversion, and direct air capture solutions. Located next to Alabama Power’s Plant Gaston, the NCCC bridges the gap between lab research and commercial-scale demonstration, supporting technology developers from around the world.
Initially focused on coal-fired power plants, the NCCC now also tests technologies for natural gas facilities and carbon conversion, utilizing flexible slipstream facilities that allow for simultaneous, pilot-scale testing. The center has collaborated with more than 50 organizations and played a key role in reducing the projected costs of capturing carbon from fossil fuels, helping advance multiple technologies toward commercial use.
