Summary Agenda

About the Event

In this event, we will explore the critical role of nuclear energy in powering the exponentially growing global energy demand, and specifically the next generation of data centers. As the demand for cloud computing, AI, and digital services continues to surge, hyperscalers are facing unprecedented energy challenges. Nuclear energy offers a low-carbon solution to supply the massive and continuous power needed for data centers while reducing reliance on an increasingly strained electrical grid.

With their ability to provide stable, 24/7 power, nuclear power is emerging as a key technology for data center operators looking to enhance energy security and sustainability. Leading nuclear companies are actively engaging with hyperscalers and utilities to develop innovative models where next-gen nuclear and SMRs become part of dedicated energy ecosystems, ensuring resilience and reliability without overloading regional grids.

At this event, we will discuss:

  • How nuclear energy can provide clean, reliable power for data center operations and broader growing global energy demand
  • Challenges and opportunities in next-gen nuclear power
  • Ongoing collaborations between nuclear companies and hyperscalers
  • Partnership & financing opportunities

About the Speakers

Kairos Power is an engineering company developing a next-gen nuclear reactor to transform the global energy landscape. With a goal of demonstrating its technology before 2030, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approved the construction of its Hermes demonstration reactor in Oak Ridge, Tennessee (the first non-water-cooled reactor approved in over 50 years) targeting operation by 2026; only to be followed by the approval of a construction permit for a second Hermes reactor. They have successfully partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and with Google (to provide them with energy for their US-based data centers).

Jeffrey Olson is the Vice President of Business Development & Finance for Kairos Power, and has over 10 years of experience managing strategic growth initiatives for energy technology companies to develop, scale and manage their businesses. Prior to his direct engagement in the early stage energy sector, Mr. Olson spent the first half of his career in management consulting advising Fortune 500 companies on business growth and systems development. Prior to joining Kairos Power, Mr. Olson led strategic partnership development and commercial operations at the artificial intelligence energy storage provider, Stem, Inc., as the company’s Vice President of Partner Operations. Mr. Olson joined Stem from the fuel cell sector in his roles in corporate finance and international business development with Bloom Energy. Mr. Olson also served as an executive with Accenture’s Strategy Group where he was a founding member of Accenture’s Global Sustainability Practice. Mr. Olson graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with an MBA and a Certificate in Engineering & Business for Sustainability. He received his B.A. in Economics from St. Olaf College.

Dominion Energy , headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves over 4.5 million customers across 13 states, providing electricity and natural gas services. Dominion Energy is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, while supplying the increasing demand for energy. They will provide insights on the difficulties they are facing as a utility company and talk about the challenges and opportunities of using nuclear energy to supply electricity demand without increasing their carbon emissions.

Jonathan Warren is the Business Development Manager for Dominion Energy, and has worked over 10 years on the company. Prior to his direct engagement in the early stage energy sector, while he was working as manager in another company, Jonathan graduated from the Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor and a Master of Science, focused on environmental sciences.
