Conventional petrophysics per well for big projects can be daunting, normally taking too much time and money to complete, and when you think you are finishing the job new data arrives making the analysis obsolete. Therefore, every operator would appreciate a faster path from logging to decision making, and if they can do this by lowering costs and increased productivity, they've hit the jackpot.
This is what SeisPetro’s regional petrophysical tools bring to the table, their semi-automatic workflows can process 100s of wells at once by accelerating the normalization process, and by estimating minerals and fluids using a genetic algorithm to search for regional or local endpoints in a fraction of the time of a conventional analysis. This approach has proven to deliver a substantial time/cost reduction, and to increase accuracy of the petrophysical model. Due to the nature of the algorithm used, the process also allows to assess uncertainty in the multimineral model in a short amount of time. The quick petrophysical analysis provides the data needed for a local and regional geologic understanding to select drilling locations, estimate reserves, or identify sweet spots in a fraction of the time of typical regional petrophysical analysis.
This topic will be most useful for petrophysicist that want to do things in a different way and for subsurface teams that need to accelerate decision making, for example in fast data room evaluations, when acquiring new fields with lots of wells, or when exploring to enter new regions.
