Guest Speaker (John Spears) - Completion Topic: Learnings from the 2024 Frac Market & Predictions for 2025 Industry guru John Spears will address the forces and trends that shaped drilling and completion activity in 2024, focusing on the never-ending race to offset declining reservoir performance with longer laterals and more efficient operations. In addition to highlighting the meaningful trends of 2024 among both operators and service companies, the speaker will discuss how a changing presidential administration might affect the macroeconomic forces that will shape the industry in the coming year.
About the Speakers
Matt Isbell, is the Senior Drilling Engineering Advisor with the Wells Team at Hess Corporation. He is a drilling system subject matter expert with worldwide experience as his current focus is connecting well construction roles with tools and processes to use real-time measurements to improve outcomes. He has a BSME from the University of Texas at Austin and currently serves on the SPE Forum implementation committee and chairs the IADC Drilling Engineering Committee. He now spends his days connecting the end-to-end well construction value chain to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost."
John Spears is President of Spears and Associates, a Tulsa-based market research firm that specializes in the oil and gas industry, primarily for the upstream sector (drilling and production). John has over 40 years of experience conducting market research on products and services used in the drilling, completion, production and pipeline sectors of the global petroleum industry for clients including oilfield service firms, operators, and financial institutions.
