Summary Agenda

Methane detection remains the focal-point of Darcy's 2021 Sustainability program with this deep dive into satellite-based methane detection. For several years now, satellite-based detection has offered the enticing promise of low-cost, high-frequency flyover capabilities, but that promise has been somewhat dampened by low detection specificity. GHGSat has recently launched two new satellites, though, that provide them with new, higher-specificity detection. In this forum, Darcy will provide some context on satellite detection capabilities and costs and how those fit into the broader methane detection landscape. GHGSat will then provide an update on their newly-launched satellite capabilities and current business model. Finally, two users will their experience with GHGSat and operators.
