About the Event
This roundtable will focus on the implementation of Grid DERMS in a utility setting. Darcy will open up the conversation by level setting on DERMS, and sharing a DER management innovator landscape and benchmarking survey results. After that Dominion, Duke, PG&E will participate as speakers on their DERMS journey, lessons learned so far, relevant milestones ahead and key open questions. Each presentation will be followed by a roundtable discussion.
About the speakers
- Santosh Veda, Grid Solutions (DERMS) Manager at Dominion Energy, leads a business team to deploy and implement a full-scale Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) platform. Prior to joining Dominion, he worked as a General Manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) for five years and as an Electric Power Systems Engineer at General Electric (GE) for four years.
- Katie Rochelle, Sr Product Manager - Energy Orchestration at Duke, leads the Grid DERMS portfolio road map and implementation. In previous roles at Duke, she has led teams that developed innovative customer programs, as well as roles in Radiation Safety within Duke Energy’s nuclear fleet.
- Alex Collins, DERMS Principal Product Manager at PG&E, leads the product road map and implementation of the Schneider Grid DERMS solution as well as the broader DERMS execution group including the customer DERMS and FlexConnect Program, among others.
- Justin Woodard, Principal Engineer of R&D and Innovation at National Grid, leads the development of a centralized economic dispatch engine which leverages short-term forecasts to create feeder-level dispatch plans, among other grid modernization efforts.
