One Step Closer to Net Zero: Reducing Carbon Storage Leaks through Reservoir Monitoring
Technical • August 19, 2021 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM GMT
This new Energy Transition Forum will be the first of a three-part series on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). In this first event, we will make an initial dive into the challenges of carbon sequestration and the uncertainty we face when trying to control and monitor it underground.

Summary Agenda

By now, many companies and countries have pledged to be net-zero by 2050. However, we all know that to achieve that objective, renewable energies alone will not be enough, and carbon capture and sequestration its a must to get there. For this reason, we've seen floods of carbon sequestration projects worldwide.

To continue with our Energy Transition research program, we will dedicate this initial event to technologies that would help reduce uncertainty around monitoring carbon underground. After its capture, carbon can either be used and/or stored. To achieve the latter, knowledge of geology and underground storage is needed, to assure safe and long-lasting storage. Following that line, the Silixa team will share their monitoring technology that enable the monitoring of carbon in underground storage to confirm the permanence of carbon underground.
