Innovators
As a part of our Energy Transition Program, we held one Geothermal forum in February. In this new session, we will dive into low-temperature-heat energy production through Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC). Turboden SPA, a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group company, will be our innovator for the event.
Since its foundation, Turboden has constructed more than 350 plants and has 51 more under construction. Their projects are located in around 50 countries and generate more than 700 MW. This is equivalent to offsetting more than 3 Billion tons CO2 per year.
ORC systems can generate electric and thermal power exploiting multiple sources, such as renewables (biomass, geothermal energy, solar energy), traditional fuels, and waste heat from industrial processes, O&G industry, waste incinerators, engines, or gas turbines, among others. ORC is particularly interesting because its a cost-effective solution that enables cost reductions, better efficiency of the system as a whole, while at the same time reducing GHG emissions.
In this session, we will present the technology and the market landscape. We will evaluate the different companies in the scope and the production locations. We will also address all the possible sources that enable low-temperature heat recovery and analyze the environmental impact. Turboden will then present its three main products. We will finish the event with an operator-only discussion.
