Global carbon capture capacity will reach 440 million tons per year (Mtpa) by 2034, requiring a total investment of $196 billion and reaching the US’s climate goals will require CCS of 400 million to 1.8 billion annually by 2050. Action is needed today to get to the expected emissions reductions to avoid a global temperature increase above 2°C. At this Carbon Capture Innovation Forum, we will review the current state of carbon capture technologies and what to expect in the coming years.
