About the Topic
This Event features a panel of utility experts who discuss how their organization is evolving distribution grid planning processes to increasingly incorporate transportation electrification. The panel will be moderated by Sean Morash of Telos Energy, lead author of the report, Charging Ahead: Grid Planning for Vehicle Electrification.
Each panelist shares their utility’s approach to adapting planning tools and frameworks to better account for the impacts of transportation electrification within their service territories, followed by an interactive discussion. Topics covered include:
- Diversifying planning processes to include existing, customer-collaborative, and multi-stakeholder approaches
- Maintaining reliability and affordability as EV adoption grows
- Incorporating emerging technologies into planning processes, such as EV managed charging and advanced grid technologies
- Adopting or developing new planning tools that can be used to accurately forecast EV load and its impact to the grid
