About the Topic
Oilfield sustainability has become more of an interest as operators explore ways to become more operationally efficient, consistent in their practices, and become more ESG friendly. The traditional practice of drill cuttings management (i.e., processing through conventional solids control equipment and disposing in reserve pits and/or landfills) is outdated and produces unnecessary waste. Furthermore, tracking and monitoring the amount of drill cuttings waste generated has historically been by spreadsheet and inaccurate, leading to discrepancies in unaccounted waste.
In this Event, we will explore how new regulations, such as the draft rule 8, chapter 4 being proposed by the 'Texas Railroad Commission' will impact operations in Texas. Examples of drill waste management in global operations, such as North-slope Alaska, Australia, North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, will be compared to the waste management practices in onshore US Land operations.
About the Innovators
In this Event, two innovators will showcase their technology in innovative solutions to waste management process"
- Recover INC is a Calgary based, processing company that utilizes 'solvent distillation' technology to process oil-based mud drilling cutting waste at off-site plants, and eventually, transform the residual oil into transport diesel. Nathan Kunec, VP of business development will discuss how Recover's proven technology in Canada can be adopted in west Texas operations.
- Galatea Technologies is a Calgary based, digital waste coordinator and compliance platform that can track and monitor the transportation of drilling waste from on-site to off-site locations. Chad Hyaden, CEO, will discuss how Galatea's innovative platform has proven useful to operators and further discuss current pilots underway in the Permian basin.
About the Audience
This Event will be particularly impactful for drilling supervisors, drilling/wells engineers, company men, operations coordinators, sustainability engineers, compliance coordinators, and ESG specialists.
