The further adoption of Electric Vehicles requires integration with the electricity grid. In this Forum we'll look at technologies that streamline the integration of that new load or even utilize EVs to the utility's advantage.

SUMMARY
In our first Forum from the Transportation Electrification series, we focused on the infrastructure required for the charging of electric vehicles. The innovators and all materials from that Forum can be found HERE.
For this second Forum, we will highlight on the integration of electric vehicles in our electric system. Electric vehicles are a new load, and further adoption will further grow that load. Utilities need to keep up with that from both a demand as well as grid management aspect. This requires the need for utilities to have visibility in this load, as well as to manage when electric vehicles can be charged through smart charging. It also presents an opportunity for utilities in the form of Vehicle-2-Grid technology that can utilize the Electric Vehicle as a flexible resource.
