As part of the Vaca Muerta Technology Working Group (VMWG), this session will introduce OpenField’s Ultra Slim PLT (Production Logging Tool) — with the potential to transform how operators measure stage-by-stage flow in horizontal wells.

This third-generation PLT technology enables high-resolution production profiling, allowing for a more accurate assessment of completion effectiveness and reservoir contribution — especially in complex well geometries or where casing deformation is present. For Vaca Muerta operators, it represents a valuable step toward closing the loop between stimulation design, diagnostics, and actual production outcomes.

Following the introduction of diagnostic technologies like DarkVision and Seismos — both already advancing toward deployment in Argentina — OpenField brings the opportunity to quantify the production impact of design changes over the long term, helping improve well economics and recovery.

To kick off the session, Sudiptya Banerjee (Darcy Partners) will present a summary of key insights from the Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference (HFTC), highlighting trends, tools, and field practices being applied across U.S. and Canadian shale basins.
